Making strangers laugh is easier than making children eat or do chores which is why Carolyn Chillura is a stand up comedian.

Having given up a company car, comfortable salary and some great travel perks for motherhood, Melbourne based female comedian Carolyn Chillura found comedy thanks to the self-help section of the local bookstore.  After watching one Oprah show too many, she decided to ‘live the dream' and give stand up a shot.

In her endeavours to avoid her kids, Carolyn has performed at various Melbourne International Comedy Festivals including Hair Supply (2003), From Ooh to Ouch (2004) and Parental as Anything (2007). Seen on A Current Affair (Ch 9) and In the Limelight (Ch 31) – you can catch Carolyn performing regularly on the comedy circuit.

Her unique observations on work, motherhood and men, combined with her natural story-telling abilities, make her frightfully funny!

“a gifted physical comedian … wonderfully absurd” Helen Razor, The Age

“an energetic and engaging performer” Julian Morrow, The Chaser

“provided me one of those truly delight down deep in the belly moments” Annette Slattery, The Groggy Squirrel
